This week, we are going to learn the origins of the word Crawfish, since we are currently in the middle of crawfish season in southeast Louisiana. What inspired me to teach the etymology of the word crawfish to our children was the instant my husband brought home a damp brown paper bag encased in a small light gray plastic bag from Kenner Seafood, last Friday. We are in the kneels of lent season and my husband had a taste for crawfish. Besides shrimp, crawfish is my husband’s favorite seafood. When I saw the collection of boiled medium sized crawfish, I taught to myself, « This would be a perfect time to make lesson on crawfish to our children. ».
