In the autumn season, when I was petite, ma Popa would have a few days off from his assistant work to a Physical therapist at Charity Hospital. During his days off, I would spend a lot of time with him. He would prepare us meals while he enjoyed being with his child on his days off. One of the lunch meals he would prepare and had loving fondness, was grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup on the side. In this intense, ma popa is a typical New Orleans creole and his love of tomatoes is live on this play here. In the autumn my popa would commune a lot of tomatoes. Tomato soup with grill cheese for lunch. And when he is not eating tomato soup, he will drink tomato juice, which a constant beverage he'd have on hand. Mon Maman is pretty much the same. Her favorite snack she would prepare herself is a sandwich dressed with sliced tomatoes with cheese on top and place the sandwich in the boiler to melt the cheese. To her this sandwich is mouth wateringly good.

  • Check your bread that is reasting on the bottom of the skillet or sauce pan. Make sure it is not burning or sticking to the botton of the skillet or saucepan.


  • If the bread is being to the scarch, burn or stick to the skillet. Add a little butter to the skillet or suacepan. Remove the brick from the top of the sandwich.


  • With a spatula, carefully scoop the sandwich to release it from the bottom of the skillet or saucepan.


  • While using your other hand to keep the top of the sandwich intacted, while the bottom of the sandwich is resting on the spatula, flip the sandwich over.


  • For almost a minute, let the bread that is laying on the bottom of the skillet, brown.


  • Make sure the bread does not burn or stick to the botom of the skillet or saucepan.


  • When ready, take the spatula and remove the sandwich from the skillet or saucepan. And place it on your place.


  • Optional, if you require, coupe your sandwich in half.


  • Voila. Bon appetit
